1. Are Wi-Fi cameras as secure and reliable as wired ones?
Yes, modern Wi-Fi cameras (e.g. IMOU, AJAX IndoorCam, some VIGI) are equipped with advanced encryption and connection stability. However, in critical environments or with an unstable network, wired cameras (IP or coax) offer greater reliability.
2. Can I view live images remotely with my smartphone?
Absolutely, yes. All listed brands (DAHUA, HIKVISION, AJAX, IMOU, etc.) offer free apps that allow live viewing, push notifications and remote management. All you need is an internet connection and the association of the app to the camera or DVR/NVR
3. What is the difference between an IP camera and a coax camera?
-IP: transmits data via Ethernet or Wi-Fi network, offers higher quality, smart functions and flexible management via app/cloud.
-Coaxial (TVI, CVI): uses coaxial cable, easier to install in existing installations, often less expensive, but fewer smart features.
4. How do I connect a camera to my alarm system or NVR?
- With an AJAX alarm system, you use the RTSP protocol to integrate IP cameras (e.g. Hikvision, Dahua, Imou).
- For DVR/NVR, most models allow automatic recognition (plug & play) or manual input via IP and credentials.
